New journal.... [Dec. 29th, 2003|10:02 pm]
[Mood Currently Bein': | cold]
[Tune Currently Playin': |The Beatles' "Long And Winding Road" ('Let It Be....Naked')]

For those who are interested in more than just Python-related things that I have to say, I've decided to pause my Lisa's Memory Palace blog and take up a journal here. Don't let the layout scare you. I'll be talking about everything.

Feel free to pop over, check it out, reply, add me, etc.

Question? [Dec. 28th, 2003|07:29 pm]
Hope everyone had a great holiday filled with Python-goodness.

Does anyone know that other journal server? I know it looked just like LJ but it isn't and it's driving me crazy.

Question [Dec. 18th, 2003|09:31 pm]
[Mood Currently Bein': | cold]
[Tune Currently Playin': |("Frida" soundtrack.)]

Does anyone who has "American Friends" have the ability to make screen grabs? Alfred Molina plays Oliver Syme, in that, and I need some pix for a site.

Awesome! [Dec. 16th, 2003|03:17 am]
I was flipping through the digital cable's On-Demand section, looking at the videos that are always free, and then I went into the cable faves section and BBC and there's like "Monty Python 3 #2-8" listed, Parrot Sketch Not Included and both German episodes. I clicked on a couple and they're all free. I didn't have any idea that they were there, let alone free. Woo!

Videos [Dec. 7th, 2003|09:25 pm]
I made a friend some Python videos and she mentioned some stuff int hem, so I felt the need to watch, last night. I ended up watching the Secret Policeman's Ball and Pleasure At Her Majesty's. Fast forwarding through the non-Python stuff, except I watched the Billy Connolly, things cos he rules.

I adore the backstage stuff in PAHM and the part where Terry is getting ready for the pie sketch, and after the pie sketch when his hair is all wet and whatnot, and then Pete (r Cook) says he wants to get a photo while they're getting dressed, lol! And the Cheese Shop part when John yelled "PINGING FOR THE FYORDS?!" and made Mike laugh, haha! And how the Lumberjack song got totally screwed up, at the end.

But I think the sketch that wins (in my opinion) is the other video where they're doing the Yorkshiremen thing and Terry tries not to laugh (when it looks like he's about to start crying or something, lol!) and he looks away from John, who stares at him, and when he looks back up, he has to hide his face again cos he can't keep a straight face, lol! And I still think that rugby dude was hitting Terry too hard during that "Pick" sketch. Meanie.

Some stuff.... [Dec. 3rd, 2003|09:30 pm]
I was bored, last night, and surfing the depths of the web. FOund some stuff I've seen ages ago and some stuff I haven't. Figured I'd post them.

Cute Michael.

Yummy Michael.

Um, goofy Michael? LOL!

Small, but interesting, Terry page, haha!

Great Terry & John interview.

Same thing, different version.

Yeah, another one.... [Nov. 28th, 2003|11:11 pm]
It's come to my attention that the way I write fanfics isn't liked by some people. I'd rather get this sort of feedback on my own site/board and not have to read it online, but either way. I don't wanna offend people or put them off to fanfic. I write them because I don't get many contributed. It's been ages since the last one was submitted, and I wanted to keep the site a little fresh, so I was writing a few in my own style, which really doesn't have a large plot, or one at all, because I don't have the patience for long stories.

I was under the impression that most liked the stories I put up in the Terry section and I guess I didn't think they'd bother people. If you're under-age, you shouldn't read them, anyway, but if you're of age and just don't dig them, okay.

I'll leave the writing up to the real writers. Granted, I don't really prefer the super-long stories (although I've read some great ones). Maybe I hate staring at the computer reading them for so long. That's not to say I wouldn't read them, anyway.

If you had planned on submitting a story, let it be known that I read all of them. Don't feel like you have to have a really long story with a bunch of plots and stuff. I like the short steamy ones, and I'm sure a lot of other people do, too. But we'll never know unless we find reviews posted on the web, rather than on the site the stories came from, I guess.

*breathes a sigh of relief* At least I don't have to do any more writing. Woo!

A small rant.... [Nov. 28th, 2003|10:11 pm]
Apparently, someone thinks I'm too confrontational about wanting people not to waste my time. I have so many sites, and it NEVER fails that there has to be numerous people who write to me with really stupid, pointless requests/comments/questions and expect me to stop what I'm doing and reply. I don't like ignoring people, and if I do, it's most likely by mistake. Even when I get eMails from people asking something stupid like, "What year did Monty Python start?" I stop what I'm doing, go to Google.com and look it up for them. They can do it just as easily, but they'd rather have someone else do it for them.

So, when I'm sitting here ALL night updating my Python sites and I get these "waste of time" eMails, they add up and they get on my nerves because I have to stop coding my site and mess with the eMails. Worst case scenerio, my computer freezes while doing this and I lose what I was working on. And it's been several times that that's happened. But people don't care.

So, to save time, I put little comments on my sites. Things like, "If you haven't signed the guestbook and you expect me to send you a dozen video files, then don't even bother wasting my time." And if I have an eMail form for ERRORS only, I have to put a thing saying not to waste my time with silly questions and comments. Is that wrong? Is it wrong to think people will use the form just to hit "send" and let it show up in my in-box as a blank eMail? Is it wrong that I see "Error" in my subject heading and think I have an error to fix and it turns out to be something like, "Nice site" that could have been posted on the tagboard (since that's what it's there for)? It wastes my time. It's not MY fault some people can't read where it says "only use this form for errors" and they send other things.

This doesn't mean I expect everyone to leave me alone, not eMail me at all, never send me a message on AIM, etc. I'm not asking people to leave me alone and never talk to me! If I meant that, I would have said "NEVER contact me about anything!"

I don't know why people are so bent about following simple directions and then they act like I'm over-reacting when I try and make things more detailed so they know what to do. If YOU know how to fill out a form and how to ask a question in a normal manner without being a jerk about it, then yay! Way to go for being able to follow directions. But other people need more detailed instructions. Don't take them personally. If you don't need them, skip them. But I can't just keep my simple "eMail errors to me" instructions on dozens of sites because I get tons of mail that are NOT errors when they should be, and it adds up to a lot of wasted time.

If thigns like that scare you off, then so be it. But I make sites for other people to look at and I have the right not to waste time answering stupid questions and having to ban people from posting offending things on my tagboard, etc. I try to keep things working nicely so everyone is comfortable and I get criticized for trying to save myself from people who can't follow directions. Very nice.

This is the stuff that makes making websites NOT fun. And yes, I take things very personally, considering I'd do anything for anyone and people think I'm some rude stand-offish person. Ug.

Terry Jones - 'Life Of Brian' Director
You are the director of 'Life Of Brian' Terry
Jones!

You tell people what to do and how to do it. They
just choose not to do what you tell them. But,
who cares? You look great in a straw hat and
short denim shorts!

Which Terry Jones (Monty Python) are you?

Yip! [Nov. 28th, 2003|01:35 am]
[Mood Currently Bein': | uncomfortable]
[Tune Currently Playin': |Clodagh Rodger's "Come Back & Shake Me"]

I finally finished my fanfic I'd been working on for months (well, on and off a couple times, anyway). Haven't put it up yet, though. Gotta check it out, first. I reread the start and was all into it, and then it just stopped, lol! I hate that.

I have one more idea, in my head, and then I'll be out of ideas, hehe! Actually, I had another one, but I'm just gonna toss it into the one I already had. Whenever that happens.

My mom got me some frames. I wanted to put my Mike photo in one and my John "Meaning of Life" autograph in one, but then I thought I should put them in the same frame. I don't really need to see the whole "MoL" cover. But I'd feel incomplete, if I didn't. Plus, I'd have to cover the little tiny John photo on the middle of the cover, and I don't wanna do that.

*ramble ramble*

I have an urge to watch Hollywood Bowl. So, I shall.

Obsess, much?? [Nov. 26th, 2003|07:49 pm]
Ug. I complain when I have way too much updating to do, then I end up getting bored and just look for things to do, lol! I had an idea for another Python-related fanlisting, but it's gonna be stupid and I shouldn't even bother, but I think I just want a layout to make, lol! One day I'll be tired of updating them and I'll be stuck with them, haha! Of course, I keep updating anyway, so no problem, there. I just complain about having to do it, lol!

I went to Blockbuster, with my parents, and they had all the usual Python movies, plus volume #12 & #13 of whatever it is. Both had the Lumberjack Song, so I assume they're like compilation things and not like the DVDs.

I feel the need to make photos from Fawlty Towers, but nobody seemed interested (when I posted on my tagboard), so it doesn't actually have to be done, but I feel incomplete.

And there was some Eric movie on, last night (this morning) and the channel went out for five minutes!! It doesn't come on again, either. Grr! I remember trying to figure out what that movie was a few weeks ago, and I had no idea. Now I know. It was....okay, I'm too lazy to look it up. Baron something-or-other. Guy with a big nose. Eric runs really fast. Corny-looking Gilly movie.

Which made me think....Gilly shoulda got into the whole writing children's books thing, and Terry shoulda got into directing. Funny how that worked out. Considering I don't read, and I watch movies, so it woulda been better for me. Not to be selfish, or anything, lol!

Thoughts [Nov. 26th, 2003|01:54 am]
Have I ever mentioned how much I love the Live at the Hollywood Bowl DVD?

ANyway, I was thinkin'....Terry always looked so cute/goofy/innocent/sweet back in the day's of Python, and it makes me think that at that point, I woulda ran up and jumped him (okay, I wouldn't have but just for example). And then there's times when he looked so moody/cranky/serious where I'd think there's no way I'd run up and jump him for fear of him biting my head off or something. Such as a majority of the Hollywood Bowl thing. I think the only time he looked jumpable was that rat sketch when the wig flew off and he was laughing here and there. I'd also not jump him whenever he'd be directing cos all the footage/photos of him there make him look way too determined/concentrative (whatever the word is for that, lol) and he'd prolly yell at you for getting in the way of his thoughts, lol! Like during Life Of Brian (mm, hat, shorts, etc.). Way too serious looking, there. But when he's having lunch with the guys at the table and talking about the camel being an ice cream, I'd jump him, there. Hehe! I'd also jump him in the speedo moments from Crusades. He looked slightly serious, but his mood and dialogue was very silly so that evens out.

But the point I'm making here is that he can look all sweet and approachable, and then all serious and stand-offish. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but it's just weird. Like, I wanna watch Bowl and be like, "Aw, he's so cute and sweet looking" and yet I do find myself saying that when I watch.

I can't believe I'm making an entry like this.

Disclaimer: I would not jump him in any circumstances, lol! Well, unless he gave me permission to do so. Which won't happen, so, he's safe. Haha!

We're up to 7 members on the Monty Python Wacky Fan Fiction message board! Okay, that's not too many, but better than 1, lol!

This German Terry song just came on my CD. Now it's the German version of the Lumberjack Song, haha! Lovely.

And now.... [Nov. 25th, 2003|11:29 pm]
[Mood Currently Bein': | cold]
[Tune Currently Playin': |The Beatles' "Happiness Is A Warm Gun"]

The first member (aside form myself) was added to the And Now For Something Completely Different fanlisting. Someone else sent the form to me, but they apparently skipped the fill-in parts and just submitted a blank form. *shrug*

I downloaded this song called "Terry," the other night. It's one of those old songs with some girl singing about some guy. Kinda cute. Reminds me of "Leader of the Pack," or something, lol! I can't even find lyrics for it. The guy raced his motorbike and she's like "Don't do it" and he says she's the one he wants to be with and then she's talking about him waiting up in Heaven for her, etc. Cute song.

I'm listening to "Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life" from Graham's funeral thingy. I wish that was on DVD. I mean, they have parts of it out there, so why not just put out the whole thing? I'd understand if it was a very private thing and there weren't any clips or anything, but there are, so....

That's better! [Nov. 22nd, 2003|05:34 pm]
I finally had a more decent dream, last night. Of course, I had to get up early to go shopping and that sorta erased it from my memory.

For years, I've had dreams where I hang out at the K-Mart near me. It used to be that I could get in this special line, on the end, and say I owned the store, and request celebrities, lol! They'd show up and it would be as easy as pie. Now there's some new policy and it doesn't work anymore. The Golden Girls were always there, Jack Kennedy and Phil Hartman were two of the main "hosts" who'd welcome people to the store. There'd be secret areas in the store where you can warp up into another place. And I usually hang out in the electronics area trying to find a saxophone.

So, last night, I go there and there's a bunch of celebrities, none of which I really felt like bothering with. I ended up at the special check-out and Terry (early-mid 1990's) was sitting on the conveyer belt thingy, lol! Blah blah, stuff.

It was pretty interesting and fun, from what I remember.

My mom got me a frame for my Mike photo, but they didn't have any that would be a perfect fit (I hate that). Woo, either way!
